*Students can register after Class 10 but must pass Class 12 before appearing for the CMA Foundation exam. Class 12 appearing students can also apply provisionally.

CMA Foundation Course Duration

The duration of the CMA Foundation Course is typically 6–8 months, covering preparation, revision, and exam readiness. The course follows the minimum requirements set by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI).
  • Minimum Study Period: Candidates must register with ICMAI at least four months before the month of the examination to be eligible.
  • Eligibility to Register: Students can register for the CMA Foundation course after passing Class 10.
  • Eligibility to Appear: Students must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) to appear for the CMA Foundation exam. Class 12 appearing candidates can also register provisionally.
  • Registration Validity: The registration remains valid for three years, giving students multiple attempts to clear the course.
